second chance

2002 was a third year I already work with Perodua and that mean 3 year I also struggle to commute everyday from Mantin to Rawang. Why I lived at Mantin even Rawang is RM200 rental house easily can get? Because my spouse work at TDK Nilai and I need to scarified.
So when I heard about Honda new factory will be build in Melaka, I straight apply the vacancies.
And in the middle of 2002, I go for interview and as expected, I got the job as Welding Engineer. I join the Honda team at 2nd of January 2003 to make sure I got the last Perodua bonus. Honda life was another beautiful work life. I start to develop new CRV in Malaysia with help from My. Kuwata from Sayama Plant , Japan and also from Oriental Assembler staff. Actually not really new as this CRV design by Honda Motor at Thailand and Malaysia as a one asean hub will get all new model from Asia-oceania mother company in Ayuthaya, Thailand.
Before Honda Motor tie up with DRB-Hicom, Honda already established with Oriental Group and assembled at Oriental Assembler Sdn Bhd at Johor Bahru. After change the majority share in new company DRB-ORIENTAL-HONDA Sdn Bhd and Oriental group just get small portion of share about 15%. From that time they start to find new partner and also made my CRV introduction Development Process terrible .
The Md of OASB not allowed their staff to entertain our request to help about anything and that make me and Mr. Kuwata need to proceed all process from unpacking, jig setting, parts matching, welding and accuracy check just two of us. But in opposite effect, I gain a lot of experience of making car that before this I never learn at Perodua.
After success the mass production in OASB, I went to training at Honda Motor Philippine for about 1 and 1/2 month to learn the real Honda car making process. From there also , I learn about car repairing technique , dent & bump need to repair by massaging the body. I also went to Thailand for several time for about 1 month 2 or 3 time per year for another honda car model transfer.
After success all honda Civic, City and accord production transfer , my only mentor got promotion to more higher post at Tokyo, Japan. From that time my dark day begin!
Just came back from Thailand for bring back Accord model production technology , I got back fire. My friend x-proton accused me as a reason for production slow and line problem because of I bring 7 team leader with me to Thailand to help me on technology transfer. Another back fire was also created that I was the reason why some operators have attitude problem and also for quality problem.
Nearly 1 year and 1/2 I suffered for accusation and I been cold storage. But even in cold storage position, my Japanese boss also asked me to proceed with my own design robot system to implement in narrow space in production line. With the thrust worth acting, I went to many trainings to make sure I gain lot of knowledge before I resign. I spent all my weekend for my entrepreneurship training at SME Bank Kuala Lumpur and spent 2 days per month for do a marketing at Naza Automotive Manufacturing factory at Gurun, Kedah.

Introduction

Assalamualaikum and good day to all,

Let me introduce my self.
I'm Nor Azam Hj Kamisan Business Management & Automotive Consultant to MARA program and DRB-Hicom program.
Graduated from Akita University, Japan in Mechanical Engineering , majoring in Automotive in 1999 and start working at PERODUA Manufacturing SdnBhd at Rawang, Malaysia as Body Shop Engineer from 1999 until 2002.
PERODUA is currently the largest car manufacturer in Malaysia (data from MAA 2007) was formerly known as 2nd National Car producer. When i started working at Perodua, that time the minority shareholder Daihatsu (the technology provider) want to increase their share to majority and this negotiation got realize on 2000. Several japanese manager from Daihatsu starting their work at Perodua from middle of 2000 and that why Perodua need Japanese university graduate to make sure the technology transfer will smoothly done.
Starting know nothing as Body Engineer or some factory called welding engineer, i done the probation period as operator, team leader, supervisor and lastly as middle management. Actually the operator, team leader & supervisor jobscope learning was not in my probation program but as my passion to automotive, I willing to dirty my uniform to make sure get hand on experience even every day I need to translate the SOP (Stardard Operation Procedure).
All my Japanese bosses always asked me to assist them when their have meeting or give training even not related to my job scope. From this also I gain more knowledge that anybody else can't get. But when time arguement with Malaysian bosses, I got struck. I need to tell truth what the Japanese Bosses found in shop floor and in the same time to make sure my local bosses stay calm even want to protect their others local staff.
